California’s Central Coast

After spending a day in Monterey, I drove down the coast on Route 1, stopping at beaches and overlooks along the way. I decided I needed to keep moving at the end of the day and did not see as much of the coast here as I would have liked, not to mention the renowned hiking in state parks, but I will certainly be back to give the area it’s due. Just as in Monterey Bay, the colors of the Pacific along Route 1 are stunning and vibrant mixes of blues and greens, complemented by the saturated sapphire skies and distant cerulean-tinted mountains.
