Little Talbot Island State Park and Jacksonville Beach
I passed through Talbot Islands State Parks on my way south along A1A, having a late breakfast among the gnarled trees of a coastal hammock that abutted a white sandy beach that was littered with driftwood and upright dead trees. An undeveloped barrier islands, Little Talbot offers miles of hiking and striking vistas that I will need to return to in order to appreciate. But that day I kept moving, driving south.
I stopped next at Jacksonville Beach to write for a bit and then ended up walking. Though pleasantly sunny when I arrived, soon dark clouds approached producing interesting reflections on the surf.
