Visiting Friends in El Paso, Part 3: Sand Sledding at White Sands National Monument

Intrigued by the idea of sand sledding we decided to drive up to White Sands National Monument in New Mexico to give it a try. For those of you have done traditional snow sledding, it’s pretty slow by comparison on sand, but once we figured out that we just had to pick the steepest dune we could find, we had a great time; if you choose a more sloping dune you just don’t really go anywhere. Blake, Chrissy’s husband, came with us which made for an even better time.

This may look steep, but this is the kind of dune you want! Carrie, White Sands National Monument, New Mexico
