Walking in a Winter Wonderland: Meadow Trail, South Cumberland State Park

A few weeks ago southeast Tennessee was hit with a heavy, wet snow overnight — the kind that clings to every branch — surprising my WWOOF hosts and I with a white world when we awoke. Laura and baby Cypress and I immediately knew we wanted to take advantage of the beauty and opted to take a morning walk in nearby South Cumberland State Park. It felt like we were in a movie, the laden branches and covered trees creating a magical atmosphere. The lake too was even more lovely that morning, shining a brilliant blue against the white shores and echoing the vibrant clear sky. It was an amazing start to the day.
