Jacobs Well, Texas

Jacobs Well is a karstic spring within Cypress Creek south of Austin, Texas that is popular for swimming and cliff jumping. Bright blue in color, the 12 foot diameter spring descends over 30 feet deep into the limestone. Unfortunately I picked a less than ideal day to visit since a) low water flow created an accumulation of algae and b) the clouds prevented much sunlight from penetrating the water, thus muting the normally vivid colors. It was still definitely worth the trip however and was intriguing enough to warrant a return when I come back this way again.
