Newport Cliff Walk

The Newport Cliff Walk is a 3 1/2 mile path along the coast that offer wonderful view of some of the Gilded Age mansions as well as the wild and rocky Atlantic coast. Alex and I actually did the Cliff Walk in 2005 but I had been wanting to go again (for quite a while actually) to experience the beauty of the coastline and the views of the gardens and houses. The first half is paved and very well-maintained, with the last section crossing rocks and rougher terrain. There are a few tunnels as well that allow you to pass under private property. The morning we went was bright and cloudy but we got a bit rained on during the return trip. Fortunately we had planned on doing the (mostly) indoor tours of the mansions in the afternoon so our timing was pretty good.
