Enders State Forest, Connecticut
This section of the stream in Enders State Forest is known for its seven waterfalls. I decided to check it out based on a recommendation of a former Connecticut resident I “met” on Instagram and I was not disappointed. It was a neat experience to see so many waterfalls within such a small distance from each other and to be able to climb around in them. I believe there was less flow than usual since many of the rocks I was on were algae-covered and extremely slick though I can’t be sure. I did in fact slide down a few sections which was fun after the fact but not exactly during because it wasn’t exactly a controlled slide. There is kind of a trail along the upper bank that appears to be unblazed but I spent most of my time walking around in the stream or the paths next to the water anyway. Whether you stay on the trail or head down the bank, it’s an easily accessible walk and a hike you can customize to whatever you feel like getting into.
