High Cliff Cove Look-Off, Nova Scotia
On my travels down the thin strip of land on Nova Scotia’s west coast known as Digby Neck I stopped at High Cliff Cove, a small harbor with a couple lobster sheds and the remnants of a pier that is also the location of a coastal trail. The cove was perfectly nice though not necessarily more so than the surrounding coast but as I approached the headland the basalt emerged from the sod, tide pools appeared, and the water color brightened. It was gorgeous. By the time I reached the cliffs I detoured (I think) off the trail down to explore the beach but I didn’t see the trail continuing in any other direction. Yet, since this is supposedly a look-off trail I’m thinking I may have missed out on a path leading up the cliffs. I mean, I could see the cove from the headland but it wasn’t really a look-off. Still, whether or not I actually completed this trail, it was lovely. And the beach I mentioned had really great colorful rocks.
Beautiful pictures, I really need to visit the East coast of Canada.
Thank you, Miranda! The eastern coast of Canada (of which I didn’t even see most of) was truly amazing. I highly recommend it!
