Miscellaneous Mainland Nova Scotia Photos
I make frequent stops when I’m traveling that aren’t necessarily interesting enough to warrant a whole blog post but I do end up taking photos of many of these places nonetheless. Below are some of the more interesting sights or pretty views. In addition to a few more lighthouses and beaches, I came across a Little Free Library at a parking area in Port Greville, large fish farms off Digby Neck, and the Annapolis Royal Tidal Power Station. The latter is the only tidal power station in the world, and uses massive sluice gates to control the flow of water into the Annapolis Basin from the Bay of Fundy in order to turn the massive turbine for 5-6 hours around each high tide. I had stopped there because the power station is adjacent to an information center so I was wholly unprepared on my visit and didn’t have my camera with me when I was offered a short tour of the subterranean control and machine room.
