Return to Canyon de Chelly and a Jeep Tour of the Canyon Floor
Our next stop was at Canyon de Chelly, a place I was really enthusiastic about returning to after my trip there in December (blog posts here and here). As I gushed about previously, this canyon is spectacularly beautiful and truly phenomenal.
Tom and I walked around all the same overlooks that I had visited previously but better weather and the beginning of spring made this time more enjoyable and much more picturesque. The best part of our stop here was however the jeep tour of the canyon, which is only accessible with a Navajo guide. From the canyon floor we were able to see hundreds of pictographs and petroglyphs as well as view ruins up close – all with narration and an abundance of information provided by our tour guide, Oscar who runs Canyon de Chelly Spider Rock Jeep Tours.

Canyons are absolutely magical places! What incredible shots, Meghan. So glad to finally get back to reading through your posts and letting you whisk me away to the beautiful wilderness of the US.
Hope you are doing well, my friend. xoxo
Thank you, Liz! Happy to help you get your “outdoorsy US” fix. Xoxo
Gorgeous! It’s on my list. Thanks for reminding me.
It’s a fantastic place, Caroline. The canyon itself is amazing and the density of archaeological sites is incredible.
