All the Beauty in the World
High peaks? Glacial lakes? Stunning vistas? Raging rivers? High tundra? Captivating rock formations? Towering fir and spruce? Check to all the above: Beartooth Pass has it all.
We only spent 2 days exploring the majestic Beartooth Mountains, but we were both left smitten. We loved them so much in fact that we really debated on whether to stay longer, but our early arrival in the season meant there was still quite a bit of snow for which we did not have proper equipment, not to mention that we had a timeline at this point that wasn’t easily alterable. But we will certainly return because, wow.
The Pass itself is an incredible road and one worth driving, but the multitude of overlooks and short hikes and lakes accessible from the pavement is what makes it a mountain lover’s dream. Some of these overlooks and places were still blanketed in VERY deep snow, as we learned the hard way but we certainly found enough to see and do, albeit with some willingness to posthole in shorts required.
Love love love this area so much!
